Madison Public Library has lots of youth field trips for schools, neighborhood centers, and other groups. We work with artists to offer hands-on projects for many of these groups that visit Central Library. Read the full opportunity description below.

Madison Public Library has lots of youth field trips for schools, neighborhood centers, and other groups. We work with artists to offer hands-on projects for many of these groups that visit Central Library. Interested artists should have experience working with large groups of youth (up to 25 youth at a time, often in back-to-back sessions of 20-45 minutes each) and enjoy planning programs that can engage with school-age children across a broad spectrum of ages and abilities. Visiting groups may be single-grade or mixed-age, and range from pre-k classrooms through high school youth.
Artists who are interested in this opportunity should have schedules that allow for programs on weekdays from 9-4 timeframe. You do not need to have availability every day/time but should have some availability during these timeframes.
Application Process:
Artists can fill out our Artist Form if they are interested in the Youth Field Trip Artist Opportunity.
Compensation:
We value compensating our artists. Artist are typically compensated $150-$200 for visits lasting 1-3 hours (supplies are also provided by the Library).
