150 Artists x 150 Years

150 Artists x 150 Years

150 x 150 celebrates Madison Public Library’s
150 years of service to the community.

Hello, artists! We’ve inviting 150 of you, who have made valued contributions to The Bubbler’s programming throughout the years to create a new piece of art for a system-wide exhibition later this year. Below is the entire list of participating artists, your assigned year, and a selection of fun, historically or culturally interesting words either documented in print for the first time that year or formally added to the English dictionary. We used tools like the Oxford English Dictionary and Merriam-Webster’s Time Traveler.

The list below is by year. It’s loosely alphabetized by first name, too, but not entirely. Years were chosen via alphabetization, then participants who signed up, in the order they did so. If you’re having a tough time finding your name, use your browser’s β€œfind” function (on PC: control+F, on Mac: command+F).
